The number climbs to Mount Isa on equal first place with Dandenong in Melbourne for the most amount of men compared to women site registration.
And while the Mount ISA Mayor John Molony made international headlines when he called for "the beauty of disadvantaged women" moves to Mount Isa in 2008, it seems few ugly duck heeded the call.
Cr Molony would not say whether he believed there were more women-beautiful or otherwise-in Mount Isa when he submitted his observations.
"Mount Isa is a wonderful place to live and raise a family, and there are many job opportunities," was all he would say to the persistent questions.
But Mount Isans were split on whether the Cr Molony comments work.
One bloke, enjoy a beer at the Buffs Club, Brad said he had noticed a change around the city.
' The best thing that ever happened with this city was Molony makes these comments,? he said.
"You take the time to sit and have a beer and watch the street. You can see some very tidy girls. You would never see any a couple of years ago. "
Mount Isa woman, Julie Barrow said she does not think much had changed around the city.
"It would only be a small difference if there was a difference at all. But then again, I don't really keep my eye for women, "she said.
Another punter on the Buffs proposed the influx of women had forced the local population to lift their game.
"Why do you think the number of people to play sport and the gym will have gone through the roof coverings in this city?" she said.
"When he made these comments, there are more girls get into the city and the local girls have had a bit of competition."
